Biodiversity

Biodiversity or biological diversity means the variability among living organisms from all sources, including, among others, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems (Convention on Biological Diversity).

Our Activities

Our energy distribution, generation and transmission activities are mainly performed in two Brazilian biomes:
The Atlantic Forest
Cerrado
Our operation fully respects the local biodiversity, preserving terrestrial and aquatic environments (fauna and flora) through numerous initiatives to prevent, mitigate and offset the negative impacts and maximize the positive impacts arising out of our activities.

These are initiatives related to biodiversity

Programs to monitor and protect local species
We care for the fauna and flora through ongoing monitoring programs, ensuring the protection of species and the balance of ecosystems.
